WHAT ARE FRAME DAMS?

Murlac Temporary Frame Dams are a cost effective solution to creating a dry environment for any civil engineering, flood defence or private works. However, providing a cost effective solution for our clients does not mean that the quality of our product is affected. In fact, MURLAC strives to ensure that all our Frame Dams are of the highest quality..

We offer a frame dam installation service worldwide, providing trained operatives with construction and industry accreditation as standard.

HIRE OF TEMPORARY FRAME DAMS

Temporary frame dams from Murlac are available for hire only, for both long and short term projects.

HOW DO TEMPORARY FRAME DAMS WORK?

Frame dams consist of metal scaffolding poles joined together into ‘A’ frames in such a way that they are able to support a large sheet of impermeable material which is secured to a chain of scaffold frames. Before deployment of the sheet membrane site pumps are deployed in the works are, wishing to be dewartered and run as the membrane is placed on. The reduction of water from behind the dam pulls the sheet in creating a hydro-static seal and setting it in place for duration of the works. The pressure of the water against this material forces it to contour the bed and create a watertight seal. This material is strong enough to withstand high flows of water and changes in water levels.

AVAILABLE LENGTHS

Murlac temporary frame dams can be deployed to any length and configuration.

MANUFACTURING HEALTH & SAFETY

Murlac strives to achieve ‘best practice’ when it comes to health and safety, and takes the view that health and safety starts when we manufacture our temporary frame dams.

We high frequency weld our PVC membrane as this gives a stronger and more durable weld compared to hot air or wedge welding. During our manufacturing process where we high frequency weld no SHVC (substances of very high concern) are released. These are present in the all PVC panama materials to prolong the life and durability of the material.
